This book talks about lighting, color, atmosphere, and weird visual effects I haven’t seen anyone else talk about. I absolutely love this book. Digital artist, traditional painter, or just person who wants to learn about vision: Get this book.

The Sketchbook Trifecta
I think this might be the most popular sketchbook of all time. I don’t know how they get their paper so smooth.
This one is a PLAIN notebook. It has thinner paper. I like it for quick, messy sketches.
I end up using this pocket version A LOT. It’s easy enough to hide from the general public. If you hold it just right, they’ll think you’re on your phone.
Mix These Two Together.
I use these to jot down only the best ideas and they are some of my favorite journals to look back on.
